Old Wall, 2007, 28.5"x17.5", $525, framed
Starting with a piece of hand-dyed cotton I screen-printed,
painted, transferred text, etc. That piece of fabric forms the
background of this quilt (it is actually 3 layers) which includes
layers of sheers and semi-sheers, some of which are cut
from other fabrics which have had their surfaces manipulated
in one way or another, and all of which are handstitched
through the three layers with additional stitching around the piece.
It reminded me of an old wall with peeling posters, paint, etc.
Hence the title.
